Who we are
Playrocket (playrocket.gg) is run by Playrocket, who decides how the information on this page is used. Write to hello@playrocket.gg about anything here.
What the sign-up keeps
When you join the waitlist, we keep your email address, the class you chose (player, tester or dev; a player who asks for playtests is kept as a tester too), and, if you are a dev, the link or the words you gave about your game. We also keep where you came from: the campaign tags in the address you arrived by (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and ref), the site that linked you to us (its host name only, never the rest of its address), the country our host says the request came from, and the time you signed up.
That is all. We do not keep your IP address or your browser's details with it. Signing up again for the same class changes your entry; it does not add a second one.
The rocket scoreboard
The rocket game at the top of the page has a scoreboard. If you post a score, the name you choose for it and your score are shown to everyone on the board. We keep them with how long your round ran and when you posted it: nothing else, no email address, no IP address and no cookie. Write to hello@playrocket.gg with the name and the score to have them deleted.
Why
We use your address only to tell you when the site opens, to invite testers to playtests, and, for devs, to reach you about your game. The rest tells us which links bring people and how many want each way in. Nothing is sent yet.
How long
We keep your entry through the launch and after it, for as long as you stay on the list: nothing deletes an entry on its own. It is kept until you ask us to remove it.
Cookies and measuring
The page sets one cookie, pr_consent, to remember your answer to the cookie banner: "granted" or "denied". It lasts 6 months, is sent only to this site, and holds nothing else. Change your answer any time with "Cookie choices" at the foot of the page.
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity run only after you press "Allow". Until then, and always when you press "Only necessary", nothing of them is loaded and no request goes to them.
- Google Analytics counts visits and shows us which pages are read and how people reach them. It sets cookies and sends Google your browser and device details and your approximate place. Its own privacy policy covers the rest.
- Microsoft Clarity shows us where visitors get stuck: it records anonymised sessions (pointer movement, clicks and scrolling) and hides what is typed in form fields. It sets cookies and sends Microsoft your browser and device details. Its own privacy statement covers the rest.
After "Allow", we also tell Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity when you press one of this page's buttons, choose a class or send the form, and which class it was; never your email address or what you wrote.
Cloudflare Turnstile is Cloudflare's check that a person is sending the form. It loads when you start on the form, or type a name for the rocket scoreboard. To make the check it collects your IP address and details of your browser and device, and our server passes your IP address to Cloudflare once more to confirm it. Cloudflare's own privacy policy covers the rest.
Who handles it
Cloudflare hosts the page and stores the sign-up, and protects the site from attacks. To do that it processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details. Google and Microsoft handle data only if you press "Allow".
Your rights
Write to hello@playrocket.gg from the address you signed up with to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to be removed from the list. We delete the entry, with every class and everything kept with it, within 30 days.
